Alpine Academy is a charter high school sponsored by the Nevada State Board of Education built on academic achievement and connections to the community. The school’s community-based education includes administration, teachers, students, parents, and the community in the education process. Students will be offered a personalized education with many support services. Alpine Academy is a standards-based school.
Our courses are aligned to the State of Nevada’s academic standards. Standards define what students at Alpine Academy should know and be able to do in particular subject areas by the time they complete the twelfth grade. Standards provide common expectations to guide curriculum development, student assessment and professional development programs for our staff.
Our standards allow parents and the schools to hold students accountable for developing certain knowledge and skills. They also allow students and parents to hold Alpine Academy staff accountable for teaching and learning. Finally, standards create a vision for what we want and expect our school to be.
Alpine Academy hires highly qualified teachers who share the same dedication and vision for students as the administration and board of directors. The administration sets standards for acceptable teaching practices and provides support resources and ongoing professional development to facilitate effective instructional strategies. Alpine Academy staff sets high expectations of students and themselves.
